Mokulito Printing

I love Mokulito printing, which is a print technique using the wood as your print plate. Mokulito means ‘Wood Lithography’ in Japanese. Mokulito is a technique developed in Japan in the 1970’s by Osaka Schisi.

I often combine Mokulito with Woodcut by cutting the board as well, so you get contrasting lines and textures. Also pushing the boundaries of this technique by adding watercolour during the printing process
