Restoration project

Why did I get involved?

This was a stunning restoration project to ensure a bright future for a concept house designed and built in 1939 by Taylor and Greene. It was now being restored as a family home by Dunne Associates Architects, who brought me on board to create interiors to complement the architecture.

How did I help?

It was important that we stayed true to the original concept, so I worked from original photographs of the house, helping choose wall colours, fabrics, lighting, furniture and flooring.

The colour palette was created from items the client loved in the house and the beautiful garden they had created. My bespoke fabric pieces included a striped roller blind for the bathroom and curtains with an acoustic wool lining and printed fabric for the office.

What was the impact?

I loved being part of a team with such a strong shared vision. We succeeded both in respecting the house’s original design ethos and creating a unique restored home which the family would love for years to come.
